How to temporarily turn off Google Play Protect

Because the Spectrum LED PRO app is downloaded directly from our website (not the Google Play Store), Android's Google Play Protect will flag it as an unrecognised app and may block the install. This is completely normal for apps in early beta it doesn't mean the app is unsafe. You just need to temporarily disable Play Protect to get it installed, then turn it straight back on.

  1. Open the Google Play Store app on your Android phone.
  2. Tap your profile icon in the top right corner.
  3. Tap Play Protect.
  4. Tap the settings icon (gear/cog) in the top right.
  5. Toggle off "Scan apps with Play Protect".
  6. Tap Turn off to confirm.
  7. Now install the Spectrum LED PRO .apk as normal.
  8. Once installed, go back and turn Play Protect back on same steps, toggle it back on.

Note: We recommend re-enabling Google Play Protect after installation to keep your device protected.
